PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable rapidly utilizing content data to be acquired via a network without causing a delay in user's operation.

SOLUTION: A browser 23 is connected to a shop server 71 to cause a screen concerning the acquisition of the content to be displayed. A content reproducing section 24 reproduces the content downloaded from a content server 75 and stored in a content storage section 27. A DRM client 26 performs DRM processing concerning a license required for reproducing the content. A download (DL) agent 30 downloads the content from the content server 75 at a designated time and causes the section 27 to store the content. Also, the download agent 30 acquires meta data concerning the downloaded content from a meta data DB 73 at a desired time, and causes a client meta data DB 29 to store the meta data. This system is applicable to a television receiver or the like.
