PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground fault detector for detecting ground faults, arising at least in either a DC power source or loads connected thereto which surely detects ground fault, even immediately after the DC power source has been connected to the loads. SOLUTION: The ground fault detector 1 comprise a high-voltage battery 2 (DC power source), an inverter circuit 3 (load), an AC motor 4 (load), a system main relay 5 (interruption means), a ground fault detection section 6 (ground fault detection means), and a coupling capacitor 7 (a capacitor). A point A, located on the side of the ground fault detecting section 6 of the coupling capacitor 7, is connected to an output terminal of a battery module 2a, constituting the high-voltage battery 2, at which the voltage becomes 1/2 the voltage between the output terminals of the high-voltage battery 2. The ground fault detecting section 6 can thereby surely detect ground faults, without being influenced by the voltage at the point A of the coupling capacitor 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
