PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and a method which establish a communication with any one of a plurality of radio communication apparatuses, using a short-distant transceiver assembly. SOLUTION: Data communication is established between a sender and a radio communication apparatus over the internet through an internet access unit such as a computer or over a radio network using the radio communication apparatus. The radio communication apparatus is operative on at least two different frequencies for communicating with the computer or the radio network, based on whether specified parameters exist, including identifiers or codes unique to the radio communication apparatus in a specified peripheral range concerning the computer. An automatic switching function establishes the data communication via the computer or over the radio network, based on whether the parameters of the identifier and the peripheral range agree.
