PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing body for a vehicle which is formed by polyolefin based plastic with a new characteristic and especially excellent in low temperature resistance. SOLUTION: The shock absorbing body is used for absorbing the shock in the vehicle. The shock absorbing body is equipped with a support board part 42 and a shock absorbing body part 46 which is formed in a grid shape on the support board part 42 by a plurality of thin thickness ribs 44, and can absorb the shock energy by plastically being deformed when the shock load is applied. The shock absorbing body is integrally formed by polyolefin (PO) based plastic. The shock absorbing body uses the PO based plastic showing the characteristic that elasticity modulus (JIS K 6758) is 200 to 600 MPa, tensile elongation (JIS K 6758) is not less than 130%, and the izod impact value (JIS K 6758; -30°C) is nondestructive (NB).
