ROOF STRUCTURE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

A vehicle roof structure (10) comprising a folding box top (16) and a rigid roof part (12) which can move between an open and closed position. In the closed position, the part extends between the windscreen frame (14) of the vehicle and the folding box top (16). In an open position, said part is received in an area below the folding box top (17) of the vehicle. Between the closed position and open position, said roof structure can be moved by means of a linking mechanism (30,36). The roof structure is also provided with at least one guide device (40, 42, 44) with which the roof part (12) comes into contact on at least part of the trajectory thereof between the open and closed position and which is used to alter the direction of the trajectory of the roof part (12) when it comes into contact with said roof part.
