<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video intercom apparatus capable of quickly responding to a visitor wherein installed locations of a plurality of sub master units can freely be revised. <P>SOLUTION: The sub master units 3A, 3B are configured to be shifted to sniff modes as low power consumption modes in waiting states. When a call button 13 of a slave unit 1A is depressed, a liquid crystal display section 21 displays a video image photographed by a camera 16 and a master unit 2 transmits sniff mode release signals to the sub master units 3A, 3B. The sub master units 3A, 3B receiving the sniff mode release signals are quickly shifted to modes wherein the sub master units 3A, 3B can make communication with the master unit 2 at any time. When a speech button 22 of the master unit 2 is depressed, a conversation between the slave unit 1A and the master unit 2 becomes possible and the master unit 2 transmits sniff mode setting signals to the sub master units 3A, 3B at the same time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
