<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of eliminating the need of specifying a stamp position and confirming it visually, retrieving a stamp processing possible area in short retrieval time, finding the stamp position and executing an electronic stamp processing to an electronic file at high speed at the time of executing the electronic stamp processing to the electronic file. <P>SOLUTION: A document file is read in a document file read means 11, and an image area on a page is divided into partial areas at least wider than an area equivalent to the output image area of stamp data in a stamp data storage means 12 in an area division means 14.
