<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to order consumables from a desired provider. <P>SOLUTION: This system includes a plurality of selling devices (40a-40c) for selling consumables on a network (100a); ordering devices (10, 20) for ordering predetermined consumables; and an order placement/reception controller (30) for ordering the consumables ordered by the ordering devices from either of the selling devices. The ordering device has a registering process part (10) for registering users in the order placement/reception controller, a residual amount detecting part (24) for detecting the residual amount of consumables, and an ordering process part (25) which reports preregistered ID information to the order placement/reception controller when the residual amount of consumables has reached a threshold. The order placement/reception controller has a registered information holding part (31) for holding user registered information, a provider selecting part (35) for selecting the selling device, and an order placement/reception process part (36) for sending order information to the selling device.
