摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which enables the light having a higher intensity than emitted light from a light source lamp, to be emitted from an exit surface of a light guide rod and is superior in power saving. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device is provided with; a main light source 5 comprises a reflector 6 and a light source lamp 7 and emits the emitted light from the light source lamp 7, from an exit port of the reflector 6; a light guide rod 8 which consists of a rod-shaped material having an incidence surface 9 formed in one end and having an exit surface 10 formed in the other end and has the incidence surface 9 arranged in opposition to the main light source 5 and guides light entering from the incidence surface 9 to emit light of uniform intensity distribution from the exit surface 10; and a solid luminous element 11 arranged on the outside of an optical path of emitted light from the main light source 5. The light source device is so configured that emitted light from the main light source 5 and that from the solid luminous element 11 are made to enter on the light guide rod 8 from the incidence surface 9 and are emitted from the exit surface 10 of the light guide rod 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
