PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus guiding a user to make a responding operation easily understandable by the user even when the imaging apparatus detects the unexpected arrival of an incoming call in a photographing operation. SOLUTION: A mobile phone 1 includes: a key operation section 14; a main display section 11; a photographing lens 23 for photographing an image in a photographing mode; a speaker 12 and a microphone 15 for making a speech in a speech mode; and a control section 32 for controlling the above components. When a voice call arrives during the photographing mode, the control section 32 allows the main display section 11 to display an instruction of selection as to whether the photographing mode is consecutive and selects the photographing mode or the speech mode on the basis of an input signal from the key operation section 14.
