PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable power optical system with which both the reduction of a cost and the miniaturization can be effectively attained, and to provide an electronic device using the variable power optical system. SOLUTION: Regarding the variable power optical system constituted of a 1st group G1 having negative refractive power, a 2nd group G2 having positive refractive power, a 3rd group G3 having negative refractive power and a 4th group G4 having positive refractive power, at least one lens is molded by using a 1st material which becomes a surface including an optical function surface after being molded, and a 2nd material which becomes a surface other than the surface including the optical function surface after being molded, and the lens is the integrated lens obtained by integrally molding the 1st material and the 2nd material.
