PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent one line, formed by setting dots in line, from becoming thin. SOLUTION: This printer is equipped with a printing part for doing printing by forming dots on a medium in accordance with data on an image to be printed, and the printing part can form at least two types of dots of different sizes as the dots. When the image to be printed is the text image and the data on the image is the data converted from data on a higher-definition image, the dots are formed on the medium in such a manner as to be set in line, so that one line can be drawn as a linear part of the text image. In this case, the dot to be formed as a dot of a predetermined size or a smaller size is formed by being replaced with a dot of a size larger than the predetermined one.
