PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the price of a joy stick device by mechanically providing a dead zone so that a minute motion in the vicinity of the return position of an operating member of the joy stick may not become an output of the joy stick device, and realizing it with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In this device, an inclination detection means for a holding member is constituted of a round bar-like elastic body, a thin plate, and a displacement sensor so that the number of part items can be minimized, and the assembling can be simplified, and a clearance is provided with the holding member which causes a deformation of the elastic body. Since the dead zone is mechanically formed in this way, stable performance and an inexpensive device can be realized while dispensing with an electric treatment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
