METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR COLLECTING INFORMATION ON PERFORMANCE OF STORAGE NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting information on the performance of a storage network suitable for use when a network is scaled up and the number of components whose performance information is to be collected becomes enormous. SOLUTION: Based on performance information collected from components of the storage network to be supervised, the range or degree of subsequent information collection is automatically adjusted as necessary. Of the pieces of information needed for performance supervising and tuning, important pieces of information are collected at the correct time while the rate of collecting unnecessary information is reduced. This has the effect of automating the supervising of the performance of the larger-scale storage network by means of a device with a processing capability similar to that of a conventional device.
