PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic floor post which can exert excellent strength over a long time, absorbs vibrations and a shock, is very excellent in earthquake resistance, facilitates height adjustment thereof, drastically improves installation efficiency thereof, and copes with aged deterioration, and to provide a housing distortion detecting system equipped with the floor post. SOLUTION: The floor post is formed of a vertically erected cylindrical base portion, a rod-shaped movable portion vertically movably inserted into the base portion, a support portion arranged above the movable portion and supporting a sleeper from below, and a fixing means for fixing the movable portion at a predetermined height with respect to the base portion. Herein the support portion consists of a bearing member having a plane portion arranged at an upper edge thereof and abutting on a lower surface of the sleeper, and a spring interposed between the support portion and the movable portion.
