PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can reduce burdens on application developers at the time of performing an error recovery process. SOLUTION: A controller 1 has an application 61 for controlling a copying machine, an application management part 62 which manages a plurality of applications, a job management part 63 which manages a job put in from the application 61, and an error recovery service 64 which detects an error brought about by the put job and carries out the recovery process for the error. The error recovery service 64 determines whether or not the job is a job with a recovery request contracted when it detects the error brought about by the job.
