PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation method which enables the formation of high-quality images to a variety of recording media regardless of surface roughnesses and ink absorbencies of the recording media without sacrificing high recording adjustability carried by an inkjet recording system, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: An ink image is formed on an intermediate transfer body 1 by discharging ink at an inkjet recording part 5. Moisture is removed by a moisture removal accelerating device 6 or a heating roller 7 to the ink image formed on the intermediate transfer body. Prior to the transfer of the thus-obtained ink image to the recording medium, an ink transfer auxiliary agent is applied to the recording medium. The ink image formed on the intermediate transfer body is transferred to the recording medium with the ink transfer auxiliary agent applied thereto. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
