PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum deaeration device and method for organic wastewater or sludge which can prevent the clogging of an inflow part and a rotation part with a screen residue and perform stable deaeration continuously at a large flow rate. SOLUTION: The vacuum deaeration device has a vacuum vessel 1, a dispersion disk 6 supported in the vacuum vessel so as to be rotatable around a vertical shaft 5, a treatment liquid supply pipe 3 for supplying treatment liquid containing the screen residue onto the dispersion disk, and an exhaust pipe 9 connected to a vacuum generator reducing the pressure in the vacuum vessel. In this device, the treatment liquid is dispersed by the action of centrifugal force of the dispersion disk 6, and bubbles in the treatment liquid are defoamed or deaerated by collision effect and thin film effect. A smooth flat disk is used as the dispersion disk, and a skirt-shaped guide 8 is disposed above the flat disk so as to leave a clearance L1 from the flat disk. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
