PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by constructing a retaining wall using a foaming synthetic resin as a backfilling material, by a simple foundation. SOLUTION: The thickness of a wall part 11 and a bottom plate 2 of a cross-sectional L-shaped precast member, is set to 70 to 150 mm in response to the wall height, so that dead weight is relatively light. The length of the bottom plate 2 is set to about 30% to the wall height so as not to have fear of overturning even if a wind load acts on the wall part 11. A projection 21 having the height of 20 to 30 mm of an integral type or a separate type, is formed in a rear end part of the bottom plate 2, and the overturning is prevented by increasing weight of the retaining wall by placing a heavy load such as a crushed stone in a space on the bottom plate 2 surrounded by this projection 21. A drain hole 13 having a diameter of 20 to 40 mm is formed in a central part of the wall part 11, and a bolt installing hole for installing a metal fitting for connecting mutual units, is formed on the side edge of the wall part 11.
