PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure and a mounting method of an ignition plug in which the top end of a plug cap covering the ignition plug and the bottom end of a high voltage tower extending from an ignition coil are surely bonded to each other with an adhesive. SOLUTION: A plug cap 32 includes a main body 33 in a shape of a cylinder which covers an ignition plug 15, and a receptacle part 35 in a shape of a ring which is formed on the outer surface in the axially middle part of the main body 33 and has an inserted part 38 in a shape of a ring and opened upward. A high voltage tower 40 bonded to the plug cap includes a cylindrical main body 41 which is fitted to the outer surface of the main body 33, and an cylindrical insertion part 45 which is formed on the bottom of the main body 41 and is inserted into an insertion hole 38 with a gap. An outer periphery side adhesive 55a is filled in an outer periphery side gap 46a between the outer periphery surface of the insertion part 45 and the opposite surface of the receptacle part 35, and an inner periphery side adhesive 55c is filled in an inner periphery side gap 46c between the inner periphery surface of the insertion part 45 and the surface of the main body 33. The adhesives 55a, 55c filled in the gaps between inner/outer peripheral surfaces of the insertion part 45 and opposite surfaces improve adhesive strength between the plug cap and the high voltage tower.
