PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iris device for controlling light of a light source which can always obtain a rectangular iris aperture and is advantageous to cost reduction and space utilization. SOLUTION: A 1st iris blade is constituted of two arms 19, 20 and two blades 21, 22 pivoted by these arms 19, 20 and a 2nd iris blade is constituted of two arms 23, 24 and one blade 25. A 1st operation member 10 is reciprocally rotated by an output pin 12a of a motor, the arm 19 is rotated by a pin 10b and a 2nd operation member 11 is rotated by engagement of gear parts 10a, 11a. The 2nd operation member rotates the arm 23 by the pin 11b. Thereby the 1st iris blade and the 2nd iris blade are driven in opposite directions by the rotation of the motor and a rectangular iris aperture of different size can be always controlled.
