PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for achieving a maximum bit rate in a DMT system using a quad spectrum for avoiding an interference with a radio frequency interference (RFI). SOLUTION: A method, which is obtained by combining embodiments of this present invention variously, optimizes bit allocation and utilizes plural bins in notched areas for transmission over short loops without violating the power spectral density (PSD) mask.
