The present invention relates to a method of and apparatus for driving a plasma display panel, wherein the dynamic range of input data is enlarged. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of driving the plasma display panel using a technique of enlarging the dynamic range includes adjusting the dynamic range of data by using a first minimum distribution lower gray scale and a minimum distribution upper gray scale, and adjusting the dynamic range of data by using a forcibly allocated second minimum distribution lower gray scale and a minimum distribution upper gray scale according to the minimum distribution upper gray scale. Further, the method of and apparatus for driving the plasma display panel includes any one of data the dynamic ranges of which are adjusted according to the first minimum distribution lower gray scale. |
