PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intestinal function ameliorating agent that contains a hardly digestible saccharide which has not ever been known.

SOLUTION: This intestinal function ameliorating agent is a new type containing cyclofructan as an active ingredient and can be widely used in oral application objects such as, food and drink and medicines. The intestinal function ameliorating agent can increase intestinal short-chain fatty acids by its intake to ameliorate the intestinal functions and exhibits an ameliorating effect on obstipation through promotion of defecation and its modulating action on intestinal functions.
