HYDROGEN STORAGE MATERIAL AND HYDROGEN PRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage material beginning a hydrogen releasing reaction at a low temperature such as room temperature.

SOLUTION: The hydrogen storage material comprises metal hydride and ammonia and hydrogen is produced by the reaction of the same with each other. As the metal hydride, a material miniaturized by a prescribed mechanical pulverization treatment is preferably used. As the metal hydride, a material supporting a catalytic functional substance accelerating the hydrogen-producing reaction of the metallic hydride with ammonia is preferably used. The hydrogen-producing reaction is accelerated by reacting the metallic hydride with ammonia while stirring or pulverizing.
