<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber adapter which is small-sized in the width direction thereby can be adaptive to wiring tool fixing frame having a standardized optical wall socket in which the optical fiber adapter is to be assembled. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber adaptor is incorporated in an optical wall socket for connecting an optical fiber connector, the socket formed with an adaptor fitting part in its inside, and the external shape of the adapter is formed by a square-shaped adaptor body 21. The adaptor body 21 is provided with a connector connection part 24 for connecting an optical connector in its inside and has an external shape of which both the side faces 21b in the width direction have no projected part. Projected parts 27 (parts to be engaged) are formed on the side faces in the thickness direction of the adaptor body 21.
