PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container and a packaging method for plane glass plates for displaying capable of mounting in large quantities a plurality of the plane glass plates for displaying on an L-shaped frame, and improving a working efficiency by making integrally a packaging material with the frame. SOLUTION: A mounting face 112 forming a basic frame of a packaging container 100 for the plane glass plates for displaying and formed for supporting the lower ends of respective glass plates placed, a mounting frame 110 formed vertically to the mounting face 112 on the back end part of the mounting face 112 and having a back rest face 114 for supporting the back faces of respective glass plates, a plane glass plate fixing device 130 for fixing the glass plates mounted, and an integrated packaging material (a shutter 140) integrally fixed and opened/closed with the mounting frame 110 and opening/closing an open space of the mounting frame 110 through which the mounted glass plates are exposed, are installed.
