PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize short first print time by automatically setting temperature at the time of paper feeding at temperature corresponding to applied voltage, to reduce power consumption in a fixing device and further to eliminate complicated setting work of temperature at the time of paper feeding. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing device 10 is provided with a temperature maintaining means at the time of paper feeding for performing heating control of an exothermic means 14 for heating the fixing device 10 so as to maintain temperature of the fixing device 10 at temperature at the time of paper feeding lower than fixable temperature when an image is not formed, a voltage measuring means for measuring AC voltage of AC power supplied from an AC power source and a temperature determining means at the time of paper feeding for determining temperature at the time of paper feeding which is maintained by the temperature maintaining means at the time of paper feeding corresponding to AC voltage measured by the voltage measuring means.
