PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain the distribution data of a connection loss, without requiring a large amount of man-hours and cost. SOLUTION: From distribution data of axial deviation of a single plug, composed of a ferrule provided with a through hole in a longitudinal direction and an optical fiber inserted therein, and the distribution data of the outer diameter of the ferrule, the n-th order moment of the axial deviation amount in the connected state is calculated at the tuning for aligning the direction of the axial deviation of the single plug; and from there on, the n-th order moment of the connection loss is calculated.
