PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake resistant unit and an earthquake resistant construction method, inexpensively enabling mass production with a simple structure, easy in installation, and shortening a construction period, without requiring a skilled technique for the installation, while exhibiting stable earthquake resistance, with sufficient strength and durability. SOLUTION: This earthquake resistant unit 1 has a pair of horizontal members 3 and 3, a pair of vertical members 4 and 4, and a circular diagonal brace 2 arranged in a rectangle formed of the pair of horizontal members 3 and 3 and the vertical members 4 and 4.
