PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymerizable composition capable of being polymerized and molded and processed in a short time by photopolymerization and providing a resin cured product having good transparency, optical properties (e.g. refractive index and Abbe's number), mechanical properties, or the like, and to provide an optical component obtained by polymerizing the polymerizable composition. SOLUTION: The polymerizable composition comprises (A) a compound having at least two or more carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds in the molecule, (B) a compound having at least two or more thiol groups in the molecule and (C) a polymerization initiator. The composition comprises an acrylate compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>are each independently hydrogen atom or methyl group; X<SB>1</SB>, X<SB>2</SB>and X<SB>3</SB>are each independently an alkylene group which may be substituted) as the compound (A) having at least two or more kinds of carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds in the molecule and comprises a thiol compound represented by formula (2) as the compound (B) having at least two or more thiol groups in the molecule.
