PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition which is excellent in softening effect, reduces friction between clothes after washing, prevents entanglement of clothes after washing, reduces wrinkles on clothes after drying and is excellent in cloth-caring effect. SOLUTION: The detergent composition contains a polyoxyalkylene alkyl (or alkenyl) ether (a) having a 16-20C alkyl or alkenyl group and an average addition molar number of alkylene oxide of≤10 and has a surfactant equivalent value described by JIS K3362:1998 within a specific range.
