PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a printing method that intermittently feed sheet bodies to the image forming area of a transfer route and feed the sheet bodies to the image forming area with high feeding accuracy. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer 10 feeds a paper sheet 26 in the direction of an arrow L by an advance roller unit 16 while being adsorbed by an adsorbing plate 52 in an inkjet printing unit 18. The advance roller unit 16 feeds the paper sheet 26 in the direction of an arrow L by a feeding amount exceeding a prescribed feeding amount, and returns the paper sheet 26 in the direction opposite to the direction of the arrow L by a surplus amount.
