PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device and an image forming device that do not increase the length of the optical path of a scanning optical system, can be commonly used for both high-speed machine and low-speed machine not depending on the interval of photosensitive bodies and reduces color misregistration. SOLUTION: The optical scanning device has optical housings A and B emitting a plurality of light beams. The optical housings A and B hold a light source modulation-driven on the basis of an image signal, a light deflection means 5 having a deflection reflective surface deflecting light beams from the light source, and a scanning optical system to converge light beams deflected by the light deflection means 5 on a scanned surface 7, respectively. A plurality of light beams emitted from the optical housings A and B scan the scanned surface 7 in the same direction, and the optical housings A and B are arranged so as to be thermally isolated from each other.
