A roller chain has bolts (1) with bushes (2), rollers (3), inner plates (4) and outer flanges (5). Pairs of inner plates are each linked by two bushes (4). Each bush has an inner bolt and an outer roller. The bolt further extends through two outer plates. The bush inner face in contact with the bolt is boron-coated. The bolt surfaces are boron-coated, or coated TiN or DLC.
