<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate filter catalyst for a diesel engine with a small pressure loss and high particulate capturing ability. <P>SOLUTION: The particulate filter catalyst is manufactured by immersing/carrying a slurry comprising a particulate material having a predetermined particle diameter distribution on a filter provided with fine pores having a predetermined fine pore diameter distribution. The minimum value of the fine pore diameter in the fine pore diameter distribution of the filter is 80% particle diameter value (D80) or higher of the particle diameter cumulative distribution. Namely, the closure of the fine pore by the particulate material can be prevented by making the particle diameter of the particulate material constituting the slurry extremely smaller than the fine pore diameter of the fine pore possessed by the filter. The particulate filter catalyst with small pressure loss and high particulate-capturing ability can be made. Therefore, the particle diameter distribution of the particulate material constituting the carried slurry is controlled according to the fine pore distribution of the fine pore possessed by the filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
