PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately determine an input/output destination in accordance with the operational situation of an operator. SOLUTION: In an apparatus system 1, a television receiver 2, a personal computer 3, a remote controller 4, and an air conditioner 5 are connected to one another on a network and data are transmitted and acquired by packet communication. The television receiver 2 includes a video output unit and an audio output unit. The personal computer 3 includes a video output unit, an audio output unit, an output apparatus determination unit and an input apparatus determination unit. The remote controller 4 includes a video output unit and an audio output unit. The input apparatus determination unit determines an apparatus including an input unit operated by the user as an input apparatus. Meanwhile, the output apparatus determination unit determines an apparatus including an output unit finally operated by the user, as an output apparatus. Therefore, the apparatus of the input/output destination is appropriately determined in accordance with the operational situation of the user, operation control is applied to the television receiver 2 and the air conditioner 5 in response to an input from the user, and a result of the operation is presented for the user.
