PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image display device which is always wearable by controlling the external light intensity and minimizing the consumption of the power of power supply. SOLUTION: The head-worn and sea-through image display device is provided with an image display means 10, prisms 15R and 15L, a shutter device 20 and power generating means 30 with body heat. The external world can be seen through the prisms 15R and 15L by the transmission of the external light. An enlarged image as a virtual image which is displayed by the image display means 10 and is superimposed on an image of the external world transmitted through the shutter device 20 can be observed on one prism 15R. The light intensity transmitting to the shutter device 20 can be controlled. When no image is displayed, the transmitting external light intensity is increased by the power which is generated by the power generating means 30 with body heat. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
