PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a call method and a call system capable of utilizing the existing Internet so as to reduce the facility cost without the need for provision of an exclusive server channel like a telephone server and also reducing a burden of a telephone line utility charge. SOLUTION: The call system is provided with: a caller communication apparatus 11; a caller communication apparatus 12 and uses a public line network 13 and the Internet 14 for communication-connecting both the communication apparatuses 11, 12, the caller communication apparatus 12 is provided with: a telephone set 20b; an attendance sensor 28 for recognizing the attendance of a call opposite party; and a communication terminal 22b for recognizing that the call opposite party is not busy, and the caller communication apparatus 11 includes: a telephone set 22a; and a communication terminal 22a for recognizing that the call opposite party is available of the call by connecting with the Internet 14 and receiving information about the attendance of the call opposite party and as to whether or not the call opposite party is busy from the communication terminal 22b of the caller, and the caller communication terminal 22a is provided with an interface apparatus 30 for switching the connection from the Internet 14 to the public line network 13 on the basis of the recognition that the call opposite party is available of the call.
