PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive lightweight enclosure having a high mechanical strength and a large capacity. SOLUTION: A wall, e.g. a backplate 20, constituting an enclosure 12 is provided with a plurality of ribs 30 functioning as a reinforcing member and a coupling member 34. A required mechanical strength can thereby be sustained even if the thickness dimension t of the backplate 20 itself is relatively small. Since the thickness dimension t is decreased, weight of the backplate 20 itself, thereby reducing the weight of the enclosure 12. Furthermore, since a plurality of spaces 38 in the vicinity of the inner side face of the backplate 20 contribute to the inner space of the enclosure 12, the inner space is extended correspondingly. Consequently, the enclosure 12 fully satisfying the requirements of high mechanical strength, lightweight, and high capacity can be realized without employing an expensive material, e.g. light metal or synthetic resin.
