PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, the rise time of the fixation heat of being made shorter than that of a resin-made fixing member so as to adapt to high-speed image formation and which can prolong the life of a fixing member because of bending tolerance superior to that of a conventional metallic fixing member. SOLUTION: The fixing device 30 fixes a toner image, carried on a recording material, to the recording material with heat and pressure at a nip part of a fixing means; and a belt base material 34c of a fixing belt 34 has the relation of 0.007≤tension strength/Young's modulus≤0.1 between its tension strength (MPa) and Young's modulus (MPa), and its thermal conductivity is 1.0 to 100 (W/mK).
