PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionization chamber for anα-radioactivity measuring apparatus of large effective volume capable of lengthen a contact time of a measuring gas with an electrode to effectively capture an ion, and anα-radioactivity measuring apparatus capable of measuring precisely anα-radioactivity, and capable of reducing an expense for an exhaust treatment facility. SOLUTION: This ionization chamber wherein a radioactive waste is stored in an ionization chamber passed through with the measuring gas, and wherein an ionization current is generated from the measuring gas exhausted from the ionization chamber passed through with the measuring gas includes a tubular ionization chamber barrel for passing the measuring gas axially, and the electrode extended along an axial direction of the ionization chamber box barrel.
