PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misdiagnosis as a fault instantly, even if a fault code differs from an original code by noise. SOLUTION: When it is determined that a fault has occurred in a fault diagnosis (S100, S102), the fault code, corresponding to the occurrence of the fault, is written to two locations in a memory S104. Only when it is determined that the fault codes at two locations are the prescribed codes, corresponding to the occurrence of faults S108, will the prescribed error output processing be made as the occurrence of a fault S110. Even if an error occurs in the writing of the fault code due to the noise, it will not be instantly regarded as a fault, thus preventing wrong diagnosis is prevented from occurring.
