PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure at each edge of a raw fabric, having a simple structure, a good outward appearance, and capable of protecting cut edges of the raw fabric, by surely preventing the edges from fraying, nor separating, and to provide a method for treating the edges of the raw fabric. SOLUTION: In the structure, a pair of synthetic resin sheets 14, 16 is applied to the front and back surfaces of the raw fabric 12 so as to be outward extended in the transverse direction of the edges 12a of the raw fabric 12 and adhered to each other, and a cut-off part 26 is formed by cutting the pair of the synthetic resin sheets 14, 16 in an area apart from the edges 12a. Each of the synthetic resin sheets comprises a thermoplastic resin film 14 with a hot-melt adhesive, or a hot-melt sheet 16, which is obtained by forming the thermoplastic resin into a sheet-like shape. The cut-off part 26 of the pair of the synthetic resin sheets 14, 16 is formed by making a laser beam penetrate the synthetic resin sheets 14, 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
