PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat assuring a good reducing effect for a whiplash injury of an occupant resulting from a rear-end collision without generating a dispersion due to difference in the physical weight of occupants. SOLUTION: The vehicle seat has an arm 21 coupled with a head rest 13, and between the arm 21 and the front face 14 of a seat back 12 in a pressure receiving plate 22 installed at the bottom 21b of the arm, a pair of vessels 25 containing fluid are installed whose deformation in the front-rear direction of the seat back 12 is admitted and deformation in the direction perpendicular thereto is restrained, wherein fluid sumps 27 for stagnating the fluid having flowed out from the vessels 25 are connected with the respective vessels 25 through connection pipes 26, which are furnished with respective control valves 28 as means to give the flowing resistance to the fluid flowing out of the vessels 25.
