摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface friction coefficient presuming device capable of presuming the friction coefficient accurately even when a vehicle runs with a constant acceleration and presuming the friction coefficient stably without causing the computation to be divergent even in the case the friction coefficient varies. SOLUTION: The road surface friction coefficient presuming device is equipped with a wheel speed computing means to compute the speed of each wheel, a vehicle acceleration computing means to compute the vehicle acceleration on the basis of the computed value of each wheel speed, a slippage computing means to compute the slippage on the basis of the computed value of each vehicle speed, a gradient computing means to determine the gradients of straight lines drawn by tying the points of origin of the vehicle acceleration and slippage to the points determined by the vehicle acceleration and slippage at the current time, and a road surface friction coefficient presuming means to presume the friction coefficient of the tire with the road surface on the basis of the gradients obtained by the gradient computing means.
