PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing body for a vehicle capable of suppressing a sharp load at an initial and a last stage in a load to load (F - S) curve of the shock absorbing structure body for the vehicle performing shock absorption by a grid-shape rib formed on a support board. SOLUTION: The shock absorbing body 40 made of synthetic resin is used for absorbing the shock in the vehicle. The shock absorbing body is equipped with the support board part 42, and the shock absorption part 45 which is formed in a grid-shape on the support board part 42 by a plurality of thin thickness ribs 44, 44, and absorbs the shock energy by being plastically deformed when the shock load is applied. Generation of the sharp load in the initial and a last stage in the F - S curve is suppressed by forming the notch (tip end side notch) 48 from the tip end side between grid intersections 46 on the thin thickness rib 44, and by forming the notch (root side notch) including the support board part 42 from the root side of the grid intersection 46.
