PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rice cooking in such a manner that the compatibility between an input dish name and cooked rice may become optimal when a user simply inputs the dish name without performing a sorted cooking course selection or the adjustment of a water adding level by experiences and knowledge in a rice cooker which cooks rice from a rice cooking sequence stored in a storing means. SOLUTION: An internal pot 1 which is housed in a rice cooker body, and in which an article to be cooked is placed is heated by a heating means 2, and the heating means 2 is controlled by a controlling means 5 from the rice cooking sequence stored in the storing means 7. Information for correlating dish names and rice cooking sequences which perform the rice cooking in such a manner that the compatibility between the dish and the cooked rice may become optimal is registered in a first database 8. The rice cooking sequence corresponding to the dish name being input by a dish name inputting means 6 which inputs dish names is searched from the first database 8.
