The invention provides a glass plate packing box, a glass plate packing method, a glass plate unpacking method and a glass plate unpacking device, which allows efficient conveyance of large-sized glass plates for flat panel displays (liquid crystal displays, plasma display panels or the like) without damaging or soiling the glass plate surface and allows efficient performance of packing and unpacking operations for glass plates. A glass plate packing box including a pedestal (2) for mounting glass plates (16); the mounting surface (3) of the pedestal (2) being provided with a substantially flat bottom support plate (4) for supporting the ends of the glass plates (16) and a substantially flat back support plate (5) for supporting the glass plate surfaces, the bottom support plate (4) being inclined with respect to the mounting surface (3) of the pedestal (2); and a glass plate hold-down member (17) for holding down the front surfaces of the glass plates (16) on the bottom support plate (4).
