The invention relates to an optical multiplexer and demultiplexer comprising at least one input channel (2) for the connection of an input fiber (6), several output channels (3a-d) for the connection of output fibers (7a-d) and a beam divider unit (1) for dividing an incident optical beam on the input channel (2) onto output channels (3a-d) according to wavelength. An input lens system (4) is arranged on the input channel (2) in order to produce a parallel beam bundle from a beam exiting from the input fiber (6) and an output lens system (5a-d) is arranged on the output channels (3a-d) ein order to focus the parallel beam bundle exiting from the beam divider unit (1) onto the output fibers (7a-d). The input (4) and/or at least one of the output lens system (5a-d) comprise a lens combination made up of at least one positive lens (8) and an achromatic lens (9) which are configured for correcting aberrations of the incoming beam. Optical fibers with a high numerical aperture can be used with said optical multiplexer/demultiplexers with low attenuation and high channel cross- talk attenuation.
